LOUDSPEAKERS
Tom Simmons Memorial Designs
My good friend and ‘speaker building mentor, Tom Simmons, passed away last October (2004) from ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease). He will be missed by many, myself included.
During the past year, Tom and I discussed several ‘speaker designs at length. TDL® is proud to present the Tom Simmons Memorial Designs, numbers 1 and 2. For more info, please click on the buttons below.
We think they both sound really good but don’t take our word for their excellent sonic performance. Please come and listen, not for just 5 or 10 minutes but for an hour or two or whatever time you have available. We have a large variety of recorded music but feel free to bring your own. We can play 33, 45 and 78 RPM records, CD, SACD, DVD-Audio, audio cassette and both 7 and 10-1/2 inch reels of 1/4 inch magnetic tape at 7.5 ips. Sorry, we can’t play 8-track tape or 15 ips reel-to-reel at this time.
Our space is rather limited so, please, two persons maximum. Also, please make a reservation by phone, mail or email as we are not always set up for conducting listening sessions. We will, however, make every attempt to accommodate your schedule.
